Open Day & Exhibition

Come and celebrate Bristol’s Open Doors and Heritage Open Days 2018 with a visit to see your archaeologists in action. On Saturday 15th September free guided tours around the Redcliff Quarter site will run throughout the day. This is a unique opportunity to see the latest discoveries and hear more about the site’s medieval past.

Don’t forget to visit our pop-up exhibition, running from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th September, at St Mary Redcliffe Church. Showcasing further information about the excavations, there will the chance to handle finds from site and have a go at being an archaeologist yourself.


Opening times

Redcliff Quarter Archaeological Open Day: Saturday 15th September 10-4pm.
Activities for children will also include dressing up and making your own medieval soap. Sessions will run every 30 minutes (max. 6 children per session) from 11AM to 3PM. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Redcliff Quarter Pop-Up Exhibition at St Mary Redcliffe Church:
Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September 10-4pm, Sunday 16th September 12:30-5.30pm

Access

There is no parking available on site. The nearest car park is on Portwall Lane (BS1 6NB), although street parking (max 2 hour stay) is available surrounding the site. All ages welcome. Please let us know in advance if you have any special requirements.
