Head of Fieldwork Operations (East)
In 2018 Cotswold Archaeology will support an income of c. £12m, with over 200 permanent staff across our four offices. Much of the growth of our business – quadrupling our income in the past 5 years – has come from sustainably developing our fieldwork proposition in new geographical areas.
The Milton Keynes office has been at the heart of this success. Today the office boasts an income of over £5m; a headcount of over 70; with a locally-based field team of c50. We have just moved to excellent new premises that are fit for purpose; and to match our ambitions have room for us to grow.
Building on the recent achievements and mindful of the opportunities for further growth we are currently recruiting for a Head of Fieldwork Operations (East). The individual will provide leadership and guidance to our fieldwork management team in Milton Keynes. The post will be responsible for the commercial operations, programme management and staff development of the fieldwork team. They will play a key role in not only the delivery of the Milton Keynes fieldwork programme but also the growth of the business as we look to open a new office and further expand our operations in the East of England.
We are hoping to receive applications from candidates with extensive fieldwork management experience and with an expert knowledge of the archaeology of Central and Eastern England.
We would recommend that interested candidates firstly contact Rob Sutton (07739 321816 or firstname.lastname@example.org ), Head of Milton Keynes, for an initial informal discussion regarding the role. Your application would be treated in strictest confidence.
