CA and PCA’s excavation at Cabot Circus, Bristol, is celebrated in an article in May’s Current Archaeology with a seven page spread. Well illustrated with pictures of the excavation, finds and plans, it draws on the recently published monograph Friars, Quakers, Industry and Urbanisation, edited by Victoria Ridgeway and Martin Watts.

Of note are decorated floor tiles recovered from demolition layers and a large number of clay tobacco pipes that now form the basis for a new Bristol typology.

The monograph, Friars, Quakers, Industry and Urbanisation: The Archaeology of the Broadmead Expansion Project, Cabot Circus, Bristol, 2005-2008 is published and can be ordered from Oxbow Books.
