A talk by Neil Holbrook, Cotswold Archaeology

An ‘in person’ talk only, in Wheatstone Hall, Museum of Gloucester.

Commissioned by the University of Gloucestershire, Cotswold Archaeology carried out excavations at the location of the former Debenhams building in Gloucester, now the site of the university’s City Campus. Findings revealed some of the footings of St Aldate’s Church, built in around 1750, which replaced an earlier medieval church of the same name. Over 300 burials were excavated from this Post-medieval period, with a further 12 earlier medieval burials. Join Neil to learn about how this excavation adds to Gloucester’s already well-documented past.
