Developing Our Profession

A healthy and flourishing heritage sector is important for the wellbeing of our society. Cotswold Archaeology actively supports the development of the archaeological profession by encouraging staff to deploy their knowledge and expertise to support numerous professional bodies and national and regional societies and groups.

We support a wide range of activities. Some staff serve on the committees of professional bodies that develop professional standards and codes of good practice. Others support academic research projects that increase our understanding of past societies and improve the health of the archaeological discipline as a whole. Some colleagues are involved in a variety of heritage activities in their local communities which help to build social cohesion and a sense of belonging. You can find out more about our outreach and engagement activities here.

Follow this link to read some case studies of our professional citizenship activities. Here colleagues speak about why they got involved and what they get out of their participation.
