Historic Landscape

The European Landscape Convention (2000) describes landscapes as “…an area, as perceived by people, whose character is the result of the action and interaction of natural and / or human factors.

However natural the landscapes of the UK may seem, all have been shaped by human influences at some stage. The ‘designed’ landscapes of parks and gardens are duly recognised as important components of our cultural heritage; however, undesignated and non-designed historic landscapes can also be a material consideration in determining planning applications.

Often working alongside landscape architects and environmental planning consultants, our team of experienced heritage consultants will meticulously research all relevant information to provide in-depth analysis and reporting, giving you the tools to make informed decisions.
