These four beer bottles were recovered from a room at 1 Bridewell Lane and date from the late 19th-early 20th centuries.

One bottle is embossed with THE BATH BREWERY LIM_D. The Bath Brewery was located on Bathwick Street, approximately one mile from Saw Close. Established in the late 19th century, the brewery operated until 1923, when it was taken over by the Bristol Brewery.

Two bottles are embossed with BRISTOL UNITED are were produced by the Bristol United Brewery of Lewins Mead, Bristol. The company operated between 1888–1956, when it merged with Georges & Co., a firm that had previously acquired the Bath Brewery.

The brown glass beer bottle bears no maker’s marks, but is likely to be of a similar date to the embossed examples.
