Iron axe head
description
Iron head axe of late medieval or post-medieval date.
Found in a saw pit in Canaston Woods, a modern plantation with medieval origins.
Recording within the woods uncovered numerous remains relating to woodland management and the use of the resulting products, including numerous charcoal platforms, where managed timber was transformed into charcoal.
