A Line Through Time: Archaeological discoveries in the Brecon Beacons
Author: Jonathan Hart
Today, the Brecon Beacons National Park contains a familiar landscape of upland grazing and lowland villages and towns, but beneath this familiar surface lies a hidden history. Archaeologists were able to unearth some of this hidden history during 2005–2007 when National Grid constructed a 316km long gas pipeline between Milford Haven (Pembrokeshire) and Tirley (Gloucestershire). This booklet summarises the main archaeological discoveries made along the Brecon Beacons National Park section of that pipeline, supplemented with evidence from the remainder of the pipeline and beyond.
