Finds Manager (Andover or Milton Keynes)

We are seeking a highly experienced pottery specialist with great organisational and communication skills to lead, manage and further develop our Finds teams in our Milton Keynes and Andover offices. Responsibilities will include the programming and co-ordination of finds work to meet project deadlines, the undertaking of specialist finds work (to publication standard where required), quality assurance, and the management, training and development of the Finds team, as well as contributing to the ensuring of quality standards and improving efficiency across the organisation.

You will have substantial specialist ceramic knowledge (desirably covering the later prehistoric, Roman and/or post-Roman periods of southern England) and experience within developer-funded archaeology in Britain, an established track record in archaeological publication, and experience of computer applications for the recording and analysis of finds. A broad knowledge of other finds is desirable. You will also be a great organiser, capable of the successful delivery of a busy work programme to standard, budget and deadline; and an excellent and proactive communicator, capable of working both individually and as part of wider project teams across CA. Ideally you are already a member of the CIfA (or able to demonstrate that you meet the requirements for membership) and other relevant specialist groups, and possess a full manual driving licence.
